So everyone the sweet chestnuts around here are great this year and the recent wind has brought some more down for us to harvest. We now have a decent bowl full of chestnuts to use. The only decision we have to make now is what to do with them. What's everyone's favourite recipes?

I like to cut an x on the bases first, then boil them for a few minutes. Remove skins while still warm and damp. Then add them to sausagemeat, to make a meat loaf or stuffing balls.

I tried Chopping them up and folding them within pastry layers, before using pastry as a lid for a 'remains of the turkey pie' one Xmas, that was lovely as well (I think it was a Jamie Oliver tip? )

I too have collected some, sadly up here they are not much bigger than peas, so we won't be eating them, I just roast the ones I buy in the fire in a little container I made.
