  • Redcurrants

Redcurrants have cropped really well this year.

Have made a huge batch of jelly, enough to last til next year and still some for prezzies.

Just going to try redcurrant muffins

Any ideas for what else to use them for??

I'd freeze them, to add to my winter porridge

I made these Red Currant Tarts last week. They really were good! A highly recommended recipe
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery

Mine have done really well this year too. Lots eaten fresh, mixed with raspberries and strawberries for the grandchildren to sweeten them up a little. Use as above for summer fruit pudding. Spares are going in the freezer at the moment as I can't use them all fresh. Have two varieties - no names (poundshop specials) but one is earlier than the other. Second variety now needs picking and I'm running out of room.

Plenty of space in my freezer ... bring them over next weekend!

The redcurrant muffins were a great sucess - looked good with the bright red fruit quite visible and tasted great and quite tangy!
