It is just out of the oven, hot and smells delicious

    Marmalade teabread

    200g/7oz plain flour
5ml/1 teaspoon ground ginger [or as i did stem ginger]
    5ml/1 teaspoon baking powder [level]
    50g 2oz butter
    50g/2oz light brown sugar
60ml/4 tablespoons home made marmalade, pref chunky
    1 egg beaten
    75ml/3 tablespoons milk
25g/1oz candied peel.....i did not use this

grease a loaf tin 2lb in size and line with greasproof

put flour, baking powder and powdered ginger in a bowl. Add butter and rub in to resemble breadcrumbs

    stir in sugar

mix together, marmalade , egg, and most of milk...at this point I added stem ginger

stir and mix with dry ingredients to a soft dought. you may need to add remaining milk

turn into prepared tin and if using candied peel [which i did not] press peek onto top of mix

    bake 170c 325F gas 3

takes 1 1/4 hours turn out onto wire rack to cool

Whoa - sound brilliant - I shall have a go. I always have stem ginger in as I like it diced finely and added to rhubarb crumble.
