  • Kale recipes

Hey everyone, I’ve never cooked kale before but heard it’s really versatile and a good hungry gap filler so ive bought some seeds (in a seed buying frenzy I will not buy any more ) wondering how you all cook it- any good recipes
I realise I’m a long way off having any to cook but I’d like to make sure I’m not wasting my time and limited growing space
    Thanks in advance!

I bought dwarf green cured from Simpson seeds but I’ve also got some Afro kale from Mr Fothergills as a freebie!

I have some Afro kale too - same source.
If you pick kale when its very young, you can add it to stir fries, even salad.

        Kale crisps?

I like to use Kales in stews, gratins, curries or just as a regular veg accompaniment. I've tried Kale crisps that VC mentioned and they're also nice.

Kale Seaweed! yum!! One of my must have crops as they don't seem to have many problems - though the pigeons will enjoy it if not netted. They used to leave it but now they eat that too!!

We eat a lot of Zuppa verde which is the Italian version of this...

I love kale just boiled - am I weird? I can't get enough of it. I can literally have half the plate of just kale lol

I like to boil it, then pour off the water, back on the heat, spray in some lemon juice (I use the cheapo little bottles) and a sprinkle of sesame seed. Delish

And here's one for the real kale fans out there (raw kale!), in fact, this is the ultimate recipe to showcase your allotment produce in summer - kale, carrots, beetroot, cherry toms and spring onions - and it's totally delicious.
