    Aunty tish, came up with this; by using left over lemon pickle mix. Think she is onto winner

    You can use pickle mix, the powered stuff that is available from your local bollywood shop.

    Pop the mix into a pan, you'll probably need some olive oil and some vinegar/lemon juice perhaps. Heat through in pan, and add your gooseberries, that have been halved. let the mix permeate through.

    Don't make them go squishy; they should be the same crunch as say an olive. Coat in the mix, and jar up.
