  • Gingerbread Story

For the last few years I have made a Gingerbread "Fantasy" to auction at the Village Hall Christmas Prize Draw and Bingo Evening. - Like these...

This year I've decided to push myself a bit by doing a Gingerbread Carousel and thought you all might like to see it progress - be it triumph or disaster.....

So, today, after a bit of sketching, planning, chewing the end of my pencil and template-making, was baking day....

They're fantastic CT but how could anyone ever eat them? It would be like vandalism - destroying a work of art.
I have enough problem deciding which end to start with a jellybaby.

CT they are fab - I have total faith in your ability to make a fantastic job of the carousel!

I've got a gingerbread book, bought many years ago from a book club, and that has a carousel in it. I've looked at it enviously for years....but I'll stick to houses. I did make a gingerbread box of chocolates once, for the school raffle.

Ok, so having trimmed everything up a bit, it's time to start adding some decoration. Early days, yet, but I'm LOVING my Unicorns already!

You are clever. Really gorgeous. I used to have a German neighbour who made the most fab gingerbread houses every year - you're just as good!

That's really impressive, can't wait to see the finished product. You really are very clever, inspired me to have another go at a gingerbread house-- but just a house!

Ok, back in the workshop after yesterday's "Truffle Extravaganza"

Don't want to put the kibosch on it by talking too soon, but quite pleased with today's progress..
