  • freezing broad beans.

Some articles say to blanch before freezing, others say not to bother. Anyone with personal experience have any advice to offer?

I just take them out of their pods and freeze them.
When I defrost them, I pour boiling water over them and tear off the skins- then steam them for a few minutes

      wonderful!

Never blanch, just pod and freeze. Then cook from frozen, much nicer than if defrosted first.

I pick 'em small before they get those nasty jackets , pod and chuck straight in the freezer. To cook I chuck'em straight into boiling water , bring back to boil , 3mins and out ....

I pick them small and blanching has them pretty much cooked as much as needed so then they're over done if cooked as well.
