  • courgette flowers?

    hi all

just read squsy toms post re courgettes and was wondering, i have a recipe for stuffed deep fried courgette flowers and wanted to know if i can use all flowers from the plant or just the ones the fruit produces.( might seem like a silly question but i had to ask.!!)

    thanks P.A.

You can use male and female flowers Plot Apprentice. I think the stuffed flowers is an interesting theory but I've never been able to work out just how it would work out in practice. Please do let us know how you get on.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Alice, the flowers are tougher than they look and lend themselves to allsorts of fillings. Very tasty.

My mother in law (bless her and her Sicilian ways) walks round our allotment and is always shocked that people dont use these flowers. Every time we come back she has a handful or two to be turned into all sorts of things in the kitchen.

Most people on the other plots just give her a funny look and excuse her for being a bit odd and from another country :-)

They are very nice stuffed with rice,
I have had them this way in Crete.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

                Hello N1S
May I join your mother in law ways? I am a Sicilian and very odd too!! So odd that my wife is divorcing me!! Courgettes flowers are a delicacy in Italy and very expensive to buy!!
God bless your Mother in Law
                Regards

                  Hi alice

as promised a report on stuffed courgette flowers..... Hmmm delicious
not half a messy as i thought it would be the filling was really tasty and the batter crispy and light.

                  Bring on more flowers.

                  P.a.
