  • Bizarre onion question

    Hi,
Right I admit its a bizarre question but here goes. I am still drying out my onions and I was wondering am I alright using a couple before they are fully dried out. Just fancied a cheese and onion sandwich but then wondered if during the drying process if the chemicals in the onion altered.
I know a bizarre question but don't want a bad stomach.
    Thanks

Would you dry out a spring onion before you ate it?
    Thought not
    Eat and enjoy

I pull them straight from the ground to use, if I've run out of stored onions

That's good to know. Never occurred to me to ever do that. Always grown them and my mom has pickled them or dried them and used them that way.
Can you do the same with garlic?

You can. Green Garlic is a wonder to behold that only home growers can enjoy
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
              Pumpkin pi.

I have had to eat all my onions from the ground as they had all bolted. Taste fine

Really - I took all mine to the kitchen first.

The bolted overwintering onions were either used up asap or chopped up for the freezer. The unbolted ones dried and plaited - just one small plait though.
