Im not sure about this one It can look very male at times and spar >< Yet going but the lack of redness and woddle at this age ( going by other pics iv seen on here it could be a hen)

French copper maran . Im guessing its a hen , its got no red on wings only around the neck

Lav bant ara . seems to have more redish around the face But stand/walks like a girl Still i think its not ><

So do u think im right

Can't help you with the araucanas - have got two araucana crosses and the jury's still out on those (7 weeks old). The light sussex is a hen. The maran looks like a hen too. They all look very sweet little birds.

I think that the copper maran and the sussex is female as they don't have big red combs but I maybe wrong

Lovely birds Dave, CB and I both thought the sussex and maran were hens, like CB said the Lav bant looks like it has ATTITUDE (spelling CB ) so we bet cockerel (sorry ). The top red black - male, the arau red/black looks like a tart, Arau black red around eyes shouts male, and the arau black - not the foggiest.
                  Good luck

I don't know araucanas well enough to say for sure, but on the whole I would go by the shape of the neck feathers. Pointy neck feathers tend to be a cockerel thing....
On that basis the plain black one is female, and the red/blacks probably male. The LS and maran, I agree, look like girls (neck feather shape again). Lavender, rounded neck feathers again, female (but like I said, that breed might be different in such matters for all I know, the only real pure breds I ever owned were my big, fluffy, cuddly cochins).

Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

I paid £18 each for the Magpie and White Star, but for the Blues and Cou Cou Marans next week they are £12.50 each. I think £15 is fair..

I paid £25 in total (£8,£9,£8)for my Black Rock, Bluebelle and Sussex at 15 weeks and £11 for my Amber Rock - all hybrids. Pure breeds here tend to be around £16 at 16 weeks unless they're rare then obviously more.
