What sort of thermometer do you use to check temp and humidity in a incubator? We have had a disaster with our first batch of eggs, only 2 out of 8 hatched, and due to very dry membranes, and getting stuck in eggs as they hatched, they had leg problems and died.

So for our next batch of eggs, I want to be able to check temp and humidity are ok, as I have been told that this may have been the problem with the incubator on this occasion.

Any info would be appreciated please.

I got one off ebay - its called a hygrometer and measures humidity and temperature. Just search for hygrometer and they'll come up by the bucket load!
BTW doesn't the incy have a thermometer built in? I've only got a still air job but it came with its own thermometer.

I have just double checked, and this one doesn't have a thermometer you can check, it states that it automatically checks the temp and the only thing you have to regulate is a screw to turn it down or up. As the shells of the last batch became very hard, I think temp was too high, so want to regulate it myself this time.

Will look up hygrometer and see what I can find, thank you.
