We have a Lavender Aruacana which has recently started throwing its head right back onto its back and looking at the sky. She stays in this position rubbing her head side to side for ages.Its really wierd. She has now rubbed a bare patch on her back. She seems healthy enough and has been checked everyday for mites etc but nothing found. What could be going on.?

I've also found this- which would have been useful to know when one of my gals kept twisting her head about and resting it sideways on the floor. (I treated Lily for an ear infection)

I would go with the vit B deficiency. I assume she is getting a good pellet ration? Try boosting her vit B intake with marmite on bread/toast and see if that makes a difference.Last edited by RichmondHens; 16-06-2010, 08:59 AM.Comment

I had ducklings with similar symptons and sucessfully treated them with vitamin E boosts, wheatgerm oil or if you cant get it sunflower oil has a respectable amount too added to feed... it won'tdo any harm and you may as well cover all the bases.. :0)Comment
