Now there's a beautiful lass! Let's hope she doesn't take to crowing - she might think it's expected of her!

Lovely! What colour are her legs? She looks quite like the ones we have which I identified as Australorps (however, I could well and truly be wrong)

Her legs are pale Shirl...She's definitely a maran, and I'm pretty confident she's a girl!

I'm 99.9% sure she's not this time...but, I could be wrong. She's being picked on a little bit...but nothing bigtime. She'll be fine!

Ooooh she's lovely! I like their copper fronts as much as their blue-black backs.

Our Coppers have black legs, but the Cuckoos have grey!

I'm sure her legs are pale...but she's only a baby, so maybe they'll darken up. The copper has pale legs too...and the lack pale. Eeeek!

So I am possibly still right on mine being Australorp - their legs are blue/black Their feathers are the same blue/green and are ever so soft.

Yeah, I think you could still be right about it. But...who knows...I thought a cockerel was a hen for a whole week, so what do I know??

Australorps do have the beautiful beetle green, shirl. I have a lovely photo of one somewhere. Marans are beetly too though.

She's gorgeous, Bephlam. I definitely can't wait for Saturday now.

Sorry if you've already mentioned in another post that I've missed, how did Max do being introduced to his new home?

Scrap everything I've said Shirl...they've both got dark legs!! D'oh!!

Oh, apparently he's fine. He spent most of yesterday crowing...then he was introduced to a small group of laydees...apparently he loved that experience.

She said he's settling in fine - can't wait to see what he turns out like!!
