  • I'm begining to wish....

That I hadn't added any more girls to my little flock and been satisfied with how things were.
Since introducing two new girls I have lost one of them to a prolapse and now the other new girl has Bumblefoot and I'm going through the chore of iodine and sugar paste and little homemade booties every day! One of the original girls is looking off colour-passing yellow, frothy poos and quite listless,so am worming to see if that helps before a trip to the vets.(we're on day 5) Is it possible that they can so stressed by the whole situation of change that they become suseptible to illness?
I got my second hens from Thornes- very reputable poultry place but after having my first girls for a year problem free am finding this quite worrying.
It really feels like animal hospital at the moment, as on top of the hens probs. I'm having to administer antibiotics to poorly rabbt who had an abcess removed three days ago-he looks like frankinbunny at the moment. Number one daughter who is proud owner of said bunny is now £123 worse off-ouch!!!!
    Gardening forever- housework whenever
