GO Snadger!!(or should that be Go Chooks?)We started off with 10 chickens & remember our first day of 10 eggs~(I speak like we've had them for years but in fact only since Easter) it's a great feeling aint it~knowing every single one of them has left you a little pressie! We've only been getting 6 or 7 last few days but a few of them looking like they're molting!I'm sure we'll find lost feather evidence in due course!
Our 2 younger ones should start laying Sept~just hoping their eggs look different~would like to know when we get their 1st~special chook party & all!!
    Enjoy those eggs!
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

Wow congratulations Mine have NEVER all laid eggs on the same day. Been getting 7 from the 9 of them some days though, far too many for me, but friends are always very grateful

Congratulations Snadger. Enjoy those eggs. I talk myself in and out of the chook idea everyday. I'd love the eggs but don't want the responsibility.

Good girls! and to think that somebody wrote off those hens as useless layers. Just goes to show what a little TLC (and swede tops!) will do!

I've set up a little stall at the allotment entrance with a sign 'Fresh eggs @ 80p a 1/2 doz'
They're going like hot cakes and I even had one punter waiting at the gate for me to go and collect todays offerings!
First day I did it I didn't take account of the thieving magpies and one of them had a go at an egg and pecked a hole in it!
Now everythings covered with a perspex door and my 'Honesty box' is inside.
People usually leave a quid which I aint complaining about!

Ooop's I've just had a de-ja-vu so if I've wrote this somewhere else on the forum..........please accept my appologies!

It gets better, and bigger..........10 massive eggs today (won't fit in a normal egg box) two of which were double yolkers the size of duck eggs!

Ok, stop bragging Seriously though, congratulations to you and your girls. I bet the previous owner isn't too chuffed You're definitely without a doubt giving them exactly what they need and deserve. See, I knew you'd get fluent in chook before too long
