  • Dog + Goose = Big grin

Just been reading on dogs and chooks on another thread, and thought this might give you all a giggle.
Our german shepherd (BIG one) loves chasing things, including chooks. But had never met the geese.
Al was standing outside his shed with Cass when Sid and Cerys came up for a chat. Sid ambled in through the gate and Cass barked her head of and shot at him. Startled Sid stood his ground, then up went the wings and he hissed at her. Now she's never been hissed at before and didn't know what to do..so sensibly turned her back and went to go back to Al. Yes, you've guessed, Sid's head shot out and he gave her a right royal peck on the bum, then rapidly legged it back through the gate and off. Cass shot forward, Al grabbed her..end of story..
...except that the next night Cass was in the field, heading back to Al outside his shed when Sid decided to go past on his way back to the field. One large ferocious german shepherd edged very carefully past him, with her bum turned firmly away from him. And she got very offended with us as we howled with laughter.

It was my dog on the other thread and my goose is the nearby hosepipe. It's cured him and he knows not to go near their house or run. He has a wobble now and again but 9/10 he stays away.

VVG I use a hosepipe, full-bore, on my Cockerels - they don't like it up 'em!
