Hi I write date on with a pencil, then make sure that the eggs get moved along the box so the oldest ones are always used first

Hi, i use a pencil to date them, and when i put them out the front to sell, i make sure they are mixed in the boxes.
Oh and i read somewhere sure it was on here, that 8 days old is easiest for peeling!Comment

I use a soft pencil too. Then I use my egg skelter so I always get them in the right order. I just use the dating method because I like to gloat at how fresh my eggs are!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Don't date them, as we never have them hanging round for that long!!
I usually sell about 3 dozen or so in a week (mixture of duck and hen eggs), plus family take them, so I don't bother dating them!Comment

I'm not going to date mark mine, but that's coz I have Marans and the pencil won't show.Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

I've always dated mine with pencil and store them in date order in an egg tray. The oldest get used/sold firstMy girls found their way into my heart and now they nest thereComment

I use pencil on mine (and the maran ones).....I have about 20 eggs in the basket at the moment, and got 3 when I opened the coup at 5am this morning...so should have at least another 2 to add to the basket today!

Ps: Lynda, I know how you feel...you'll have them VERY soon...and you'll be SOOOOO eggcited!!
