  • clearing out my freezer....

I have some broad beans and runner beans in the freezer and I'm making room for fresh stuff, would these be okay to give to the chhucks, theya re okay for us to eat....but need some room and I'm not so keen on broad beans

Was thinking of boiling them and feeding them as treats

My chooks eat almost anything, inc cooked broad beans, leftover food from my plate, old soft sprouted spuds that I bake for them, leftover spag bol, sausages, cat food etc. My compost bins mainly have soiled poultry bedding, almost everything else gets recycled via the chooks - the eggs are lovely!

My girl's will eat anything and everything, although I do draw the line at feeding them any meat. I threw a complete epi fit at my hubby when he thought (in he's infinite wisdom) what the girl's would do if he threw in a couple of chicken legs from KFC.
I didn't find out til a little later in the day when I went to check on them, and found the remains in the run... needless to say I don't think he will ever do it again!

It's hard to survive without a cuppa tea when you drink an average of 30 cups a day!
Ok, I could of took the car keys away from him and made him walk everywhere, but then I would be cutting off my nose to spite my face - as he's my chauffeur lol

I know they arent allowed Rhubard leaves, or Potatoe leaves, but what about courgette and pumpkin leaves, I have a mountain that i'm cutting back to make way for the fruit?

          ANy thoughts

i think i remember reading that you shouldnt feed them any of the pea/bean family, having said that,it was also said that they should not have any delphiniums, yet my birds run past everything else to get to the delphs, they adore the leaves,so just give it a try..
