I am growing cucumber for the first time, 2 x green fingers outdoor variety from seed. I germinated them indoors and have put them outside in a coldframe now that they are about 3" tall. They will eventually go into a growbag and be trained up a trellis.
Does the plant grow to full size before any fruits appear, or will fruit appear once it grows to a certain length and then more along the stem as it grows ?
Should I let it grow as long as it wants, or is there a point when its best to stop it growing more stem and concentrate on the cucumbers ?
