    And are the fruits edible/poisonous?

    Pyrocantha

According to Wikipedia, the berries are bitter but edible when cooked and can be made into jellies. I'd leave them for the birds as an important source of winter food..

No, I don't think it is pyracantha ... is it thorny?

        I think it's a cotoneaster

Not thorny the stalks/twigs themselves are pretty spikey though... the fruit has a matt finish if that helps....

pyracatha is aka fire thorn, so it's not one of them then.
i still think cotoneaster... you could google it

Yes, I agree with Two Sheds, it does look like cotoneaster.

It does look like its related! Though I haven't found an exact match it has to be in the family! Thanks very much - apparently good for taking cuttings and for beginner bonzai trees.

Totally the wrong colour berries for either pyracantha(firethorn) or cotoneaster. Unless the colour is totally off, my guess would be callicarpa.

All the callicarpa I can find pictures of has much bigger leaves, these are teardrop shaped leaves with the broad end away from the stem, the berries are about redcurrant sized ( a little bigger than a smilie ) but are pinker side of red and matt not shiny, here is the closest I could get reasonable focus, colour is pretty close to true...

Looks like a Pyracantha to me, but I do not know which one.

                          Does it have thorns??

If not then it could be a Cotoneaster buxifolius, especially if it has a fan shape to the branches.

I'm sure it's a cotoneaster. There are lots of different ones. It's an upright one. (Unlike me!)
