    What unpalatable plant? ideas please!

    Hi All,
    I have to plant up a sensory type garden in a quite windy exposed area. However to make it more difficult we also have sheep and rabbits which can't be kept out.

    Does anyone ave any ideas of plants that are unpalatable and hardy?

    Someone has suggested a curry plant to me and dafs

    how about gorse or is that a bit too sensory lol

      Broom has a gorsey smell without the thorns. And sheep and rabbits don't like it to eat. If you don't mind a few thorns then blackthorn (sloe) is good.

          i have got some gorse already, so that works out phew!
          blackthorn might be good to

            I'd go with celery - I find that TOTALLY unpalatable!

              Flummery. My celery soup is fantastic. I agree though that munching on a stringy stick is 'orrible.
              Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

                I personally find broccolli horrible, but apaprently rabbits like it.... tbh if they're hundgry they'll have anything, they've been desperate enough this winter to have a go at the onions even....

                    I like celeriac for soup - but yes, the soup's better than the raw stuff. iIeven like them braised in veg stock in the oven. It's just so wrong as a salad thing!

                      thank you guys,

                      i'm going to try curry plant, rosemary and marjoram. i have ordered gorse for the embankmants, they just need planting in
