  • What be this? numero 3

    OK, completely different slant here. I was down west wales (ceridigion) at the weekend and down by the sea at penbryn in the forest walk I saw this. Snapped it as I did not know what it might be.

    Any ideas there were a few and they looked kinda cool.

    What a lovely one that is! They have bright red berries in the autumn- poisonous though, beware!

      I agree. It's also known as Jack-in-the-pulpit and there is a long spath (sp?) in the centre of what looks like the old fashioned lidded pulpit. The family call me the Ministry of Silly Names - but I love the old folk names for things - even though I often need to use the latin as Himself is a botanist by persuasion.
      Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
