  • Spinach F1 Palco

    Hi,

I am growing spinach on my windowsill currently and apart for the plants becoming quite leggy I have noticed a plant with a seed head, and i have not even harvested any of it yet?does this mean it has bolted?and what could of caused it to happen so quick.

Also I have noticed that some of the spinach has little spikes on the main stem(when i say spikes, they are not hard or anything). Should i just put all this spinach outside it there pots which are around 4 inches wide and just bin the one with a seed head.

    Thanks all

Why are they on your windowsill? It's perfectly warm enough for them outside. Spinach in particular, dislikes warm dry conditions, which make it bolt.

If a plant is dying, even if it is tiny, it will try to reproduce itself (bolt).
