  • Sowing Cabbage Seeds

    Hi
Can anyone tell me if I need to sow cabbage seeds in a propagator or will they be okay to leave on a windowsill?
    Thanks in advance
    AKA Angie

Should be fine on a windowsill.

They don't need heat. I find I can sow one seed per cell in modules and rarely have any misses. Big enough to handle!

My kale seeds germinated in a cold greenhouse where the nightime temp was getting well below freezing!

Okay I've sown them and put them in my mini unheated greenhouse
How long did they take to germinate?

You know me and my sowing fettish It said on the packet from Feb onwards so that was all the excuse I needed. However, another grape has told me that the cabbages I am sowing get ginormous so I am going to have to re-think or risk being taken over by giant cabbages

Depends on the sort of cabbage. You can sow early summer cabbages now but don't sow autumn / winter or spring for a bit yet.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
