  • Should I cut off frost hit strawberry flowers?

    Afternoon all,

I recently watched an online gardening programme & the guy mentioned that I will not get a strawberry from a flower with a brown spot in the middle (due to cold temps).

Should I cut these flowers off to avoid the plant wasting energy on something that may not come to fruit?

Just wait a bit see I think. Will be done more frost over the weekend so it is better to cover them if you can with fleece

I pinched off the black ones on my plants. I saw no point in keeping something that was no longer of any benefit to me or the plant.

I'm not sure they will do any harm but definitely won't produce a fruit. I suppose removing them might encourage a few more.
