  • "RHS Grow your own" show

Hi, I am very new to gardening having just got a allotment plot. I have been reading like crazy and quizzing the other allotment holders about the best way to get started and what to grow, one of the older gents at the allotment has told me about a "RHS Grow your own" show in Harrogate this weekend. Does anybody have any thoughts on whether it Will be a worthwhile trip for a novice?

It is a great day, so make sure you take your waterproofs, and if you can get into one of the talks on veggies, you will enjoy and also Mr Marsden will be taking questions.

I'm going to the one at Wisley tomorrow. I'm a complete novice when it comes to gardening too so hoping to gain some understanding and a few tips.

Also, another great reason to go to Harlow Carr is the Betty's Cafe (I've got family in Yorkshire so try to visit each year), expensive but sooo worth the occasional visit

Have you seen the sticky in General Chat? There is a 'Grapes Meet' at Wisley tomorrow. I've PMd you my mobile number.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
          Now a little Shrinking Violet.

Are you planning on giving birth while you're there, Yo? You never know they might give you free membership if you do!
