  • PVC greenhouse advice please.

    Hey all,
So my partner bought me a small pvc greenhouse today and as I’m new to growing, I don’t really know the use of it.

Basically it’s a shelving system that has a pvc cover that can be put over it.

With the heatwave that we are having atm, I don’t wanna just throw my plants in and kill them or anything.

    Can someone please educate me.
    Thanks
    Dread

What do you want to grow in it? They get very hot in the sun!

Well at the moment I only have basil, spring onions, mixed salad and coriander growing.

May come in useful later in the year if things turn wet and rainy, but probably the main benefit you will get with it is raising plants late winter / Spring next year. Probably best to put the polythene cover away out of the sun for now - uv will make it brittle eventually, but there's no need to hurry the process :-)

This is what I thought, thanks for clearing this for me.

I shall just use it for shelves in the mean time.

Not all of us are blessed with the gift of foresight :-) I try to keep a few alternative plans in mind, so I can react to what the weather Gods give us.

I only trust my seaweed and pine cones.
