  • Mushroom spores - any advice?

ive Just put some mushroom spores into soil ready to grow, they are living in my spare room at the moment and going in the shed when it warms up a bit
could anyone tell me how to get new spores, what to do with them and how to store them etc, so i can continue growing after harvesting the first crop? Thanks

Have a look at this lik Wendy
          http://www.rogersmushrooms.com/galle...~253~chr~a.asp

I know very little about mushrooms but I presume you have bought a mushroom kit??
No idea how to keep the spores growing- imagine you have to store the fleshy fibrous bit which grows under the soil in 'ideal 'conditions for that specific type of mushroom to regrow.

Suggest you pm truffle who is the expert on this site! ( there may be others too of course!)
Let us know how you get on as it is an interesting subject!

Get edible mushrooms from the wild and leave the cap on the soil for a day or two. Thats it! nothing more to do but wait

Thanks for the link Nicos thats great!
I bought the mushroom spawn from a garden centre in a packet sold along with the seeds but it said nothing about continuing the growing process

And thanks Benacre, wow is that really all you have to do? i was looking this up on the internet and it seemed a really complicated process
when the mushrooms i have in a bowl in my spare room have grown i will try your suggestion and hope for the best!
