  • mouldy sweet pea seeds

I'm trying to grow my own sweet pea plants for the first time. I was late putting them in (about 3 weeks ago) I germinated them in doors in deep tubes. I think I watered them too much and the outside of the tubes are mouldy. The shoots are now about 1" high. I've put them outside to dry off. I've now brought them inside again to encourage growth. I knocked one of the pots over and found that the actual pea is mouldy. Will this affect the growth of the plant. Is there anything I should do?

    Grateful for ideas

Id be interested too. My sweet peas are currently sat in furry tubes!! (I was just going to plant them out regardless, the seedlings seem to be coming up ok).

looroll tubes do go furry nothing to worry about, you say the plants are about 1in high,if you have nice green shoots just leave them to grow, the pea seed WILL look very different from what you planted,as the growth develops roots and top foliage,it sounds like you doing well so,as long as the growth is green and healthy looking, nothing to bother about
sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these
