  • Maggots in peas! Help

I Have discovered little maggoty worms in me peas. How can I fight them.

  • #2
The maggots are most likely those of the pea moth. Methods to prevent them are by sowing early before the moth emerges or spraying the flowers with a bug killer.

I did the former and had a fantastic crop this year.

I remember my Aunt telling me the best way to shell peas was either in the dark or with your eyes shut!!!
Must admit,I carefully sort the maggoty ones from the good...and by now have bored of it & am leaving them to go to seed!
I'm going to sow extra this Autumn for overwintering & then the rest early spring Like Capsid says to avoid the moth...our early ones this year were great!
