  • Jerusalem artichoke shoots?

    what do they look like?

I have a shoot near where one JA went but as I've never grown them before I don't know what the plant looks like!

They are long (ish) and thin (ish) leaves Heeb. Mine are just coming through and they sort of spear up through the ground. I suppose you'd call them oval and they are quite chunky - you wouldn't mistake them for a weed or a spud. When I've finished reading the messages, I'll nip out and take a pic for you.

                I'm finding that out!!!!
I've got some raspberry canes I want to put into the area where the JA's were, and thoroughly( !) cleared the area last autumn.
Now I've got new shoots growing again!!
Think I'll have to put the raspberries elsewhere.

Thanks for that Flummery. I was wondering when I might see mine come up but no idea what they will look like. I have planted mine where I WANT them to take over, so I hope they do!

I think I will Flum, as it's a good place for the raspberries.
