    Help what can i start to grow now.

    Ive introduced myself about a week ago as a new B to gardening.

    What should i be growing now.

    Or am i too late for growing anything.

    You see we have only moved in two months ago.

    x



    Im genuin as to my veg growing so please help.

    Thankyou with regards to planting.
    Would i be able to plant the seeds now or do you mean something differnet.

      I suggest courgettes, summer squash, lettuce, and maybe any early corn. They are all fast. For longer maturing veggies, check the days to maturity and count back from the first frost date.

          I would have thought you might have some success with lettuce, slad leaves, a late sowing of peas or beans, carrots spring onions..... at least I hope so as I've just done a few this morning! Maybe turnips or beetroot too?

            I planted a few radish seeds a couple of days ago in a bucket and they've got little leaves already. I've also planted carrots recently in a huge yellow bucket and they're sprouting. I've got some onion seeds to plant in a month or so. I have a few peas sprouting in the conservatory to have a go at getting fresh winter peas. I've also bought seeds for indoor growing over winter of lettuces and spicy greens.

            Garlic is quick at sprouting as well, got one about 18" high and two more on the way (they're indoors as they are a bit late and I don't want to risk an early frost come later this year)

              Garlic is hardy. It should go outside.
              Don't know how yours will fare though ~ it's normally planted in autumn or spring, depending on the variety.

                You can plant potatoes now to have baby spuds for chrstmas, beetroot's good as well, salad leaves, carrots too hopefully.

                        This planner gives some ideas, but I'd try anything you really fancy. This has really been a strange year and the rest of 2008 might provide ideal growing conditions.
