  • Growing Veg on TV?

Apologises if this is the wrong place to post this!

One thing that has puzzled me recently with all this interest in growing our own is why is there not more about it on TV?

Has anyone seen any programmes/documentaries featured regularly that give advice about growing vegetables (except Gardeners World) at home or on allotments? There did use to be one about allotment growing (a couple of years ago) that I enjoyed very much but the channel re-named itself and now doesn't seem to feature anything about gardening.

Hi Charley. If you put "Gardening Programmes" in the Search Thread, there is lots of information. There is an excellent BBC Scotland programme called Beechgrove Garden which features equal amounts of veg and flower growing. I think it's back in April and will be on a Sky channel if you have it. Other than that you can catch it on iPlayer.
There was an excellent programme called "The Big Dig" which has been repeated about 4 times, so it may come round again!

Hooked from Wikipedia, so may not be accurate

        BBC1 Scotland:

        Sky Digital Channel 971
        Freesat Channel 960
        Virgin Media Channel 862

and from the Beechgrove Garden website:

"back on Mondays from 4th April at 19.30 BBC1 Scotland"

Thanks for letting me know about Beechgrove Garden, its good to know that its coming back on soon.

I have watched the war time kitchen garden series with Harry Dobson, those were always enjoyable and also the Big Dig.

They did a series called Christine's Garden which was good too, I just wish they did more about growing your own.
