  • Dodgy Looking Leaves on Pepper & Chilli

Some of the leaves on one of my banana pepper plant & one of my red cherry chilli plant are growing a little misshaped and blotchy. Will they be OK or should I take some action?

    Chris

Have you looked under the leaves for greenfly?
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

I looked under the leaves on both plants but couldn't see any infestations.

Hmmm, I was wondering about greenfly because a couple of my chilli leaves are doing the same thing and there are a few greenfly on there but I couldn't be certain that they are the cause.

Can't see the pictures Chris, but do they need a feed?

They've had a feed a few weeks ago Flo, I may give them a feed of worm tea tonight. I'll try and resize photos and add them.

Been to the lottie greenhouse first thing this morning and found some whitefly on a different chilli pepper there was a few greenfly too and a ladybird, I removed the ladybird and sprayed. Thanks for posting PS!

              Cheers

There's a good article about aphids (they'll probably be what has caused the leaf distortion) on chillies here: ChileFoundry Info – Joy Michaud’s guide to control of aphids in pepper plants

Great article Plot103 thanks for the linky

Looks like what I thought were whitefly are the skins of young aphids. They shed their skins as they grow!! Well I've sprayed and I will again in a few days hopefully that will be the end of them. Never had aphids in the greenhouse before but now I know what I'm looking for.
