  • Cutting back broad beans?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that if you do this they'll make new shoots and you'll get a second crop. I'm wondering if it's worth doing as mine have been savaged by blackfly this year . On the other hand I could really do with making some space to get my PSB in.
    Any thoughts?

Imagination is everything, it is a preview of what is to become.

I tried that last year,it was not worth the bother, would'nt bother again, try some, and take others up,that way you can experiment for yourself, and have that extra room you need.

Remember to leave the roots in to fix nitrogen so just cut them at ground level.
