    I know you can earth up tomatoes by planting them deeper in the pot, but can you do the same with cucumbers?

    Yes, definitely. Tomatoes and cucumbers can produce new roots from the stems if they are buried in compost.

        yes workhorse it helps to strengthen them and make for a better and often stronger plant.

          mine are on there second pot now toms strong and about 6 inches high.
          cues first potted on from propagator now about 4 inches high and very good looking

            No panic at the moment, mine are only 2"-3" tall. Bit more to go yet.

              Mine are in 4 inch pots now. Three pair of true leaves on. Doing really well inside in my conservatory.
