  • Couple of 'shrooms!

    Hi,

In one of my growbags I have planted some basil, it's yet to sprout properly! It's been a few weeks. There are 2 mushrooms growing in there though?! How has that happened?

If they are definitely mushrooms then it could be that the gro-bag's ingredients include spent mushroom compost from a mushroom farm.
    Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
    Endless wonder.

I think they were, looked like a mushroom! Brown, quite thin and with a mushroom bit on top :-)

They'er gone now, so don't know if a bird ate them or something!?

Don't ever be tempted to eat them, rodduz.
Those little brown jobs grow on rotting wood and vegetation, they're part of the decomposition cycle. Not unusual to find them in compost.

Could be your compost is to wet, this encourages fungal growth.

I love shrooms, but will only eat what I can identify without any risk, and little brown ones in my compost don't fall into this category.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
