  • Buy Water Butt now, or wait till Spring

I have a water butt in the garden already, but I want to get another one. From experience, are there any deals to be had if I wait until Spring?

Most garden centres seem to have sales now but whether that would include waterbutts I haven't checked. The other advantage of getting it now is that you can guarantee it will fill. We have had some quite dry Springs in recent years.
Can you get a deal through your local council? Ask on freecycle?

I'd definitely get one now. As Wendy said it will get filled and you don't want to be messing around installing a water butt in spring when there's planting to be done.

For what you might save in a sale I would get it now. At least you know you will fill it over the winter.

I filled 4 in two days here recently, come a hot spring or summer it would hardly fill at all.

Check with your local council. They might do water butts at a reduced price. I know mine does, and compost bins too.
