  • Hello

    Afternoon all,
Just got my first allotment totally new to it but looking forward to the challenge, just wanted to say hello to the fellow growers. Cheers Bob.

Hi Bob and welcome to the vine! It helps to be a bit nuts around here (and those that protests the most are usually the real nutty ones lol)

Good luck with your plot! What are you looking forward to growing?

Hi Sarriss don't expect anything this year as plot needs a lot of work...full of weeds and bad case of Mare's Tail but eventually would like to grow some Potatoes, Carrots, Cabbage, Broccoli, Onions, Peas and some salad Veg/Fruits Cucumber, Spring Onions, Tomatoes, Radish, Lettuce and a few herbs and spices and flowers for colour but lot of work first only had it a week, thanks for the welcome, cheers Bob.

        Hi Bob and welcome.
Try to clear a small patch first and start something growing - even if its just a few lettuces. Once you're eating something you've grown yourself, it gives you more of an impetus to keep going.

Don't forget to take photos of your plot, as you clear it - so you can see the improvement. When you've made a few more posts, you'll be able to share them on the forum - we love photos.

                Hi Bob,
I'm new here too having got my first allotment plot 5 weeks ago. It was a bit of a mess with plenty of mares tail, but we've been chipping away at it and have got surprisingly far in 5 weeks. Yesterday I harvested some radish as the first crop sown and grown at the allotment - success!
Good luck with it, and hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
