  • Plum Pocket

    Hello

Our four year old plum tree got a bad attack of plum pocket this year - we've only got three plums left that weren't affected.

I've read there's no cure for the fungal disease, but can't find any information on whether I should dig it up and get rid of it. Once infected, is plum pocket there to stay?

    Thank you!

    Hi and welcome.

Not a problem I've ever had and it does look to be difficult to deal with. There's some info on the RHS website that suggests non-chemical control might be possible.

    Good luck.

Not a problem I had heard of but I did notice 1 or 2 damsons in the hedgerow with it earlier on without thinking much of it. I'll have to have a good look round to see how much there is.
