  • Is it ever going to warm up?

I have been switching on my sump heater in the greenhouse when I go to bed. (20:00) ish
Last night I thought, well it's getting on for the end of June so shouldn't need it, so I left it off.
    Min over night 7degC
    Not good.

I know. Was thinking the other day - this must be a good year for something. Not sure what though. Only thing that is growing well re entry is the celeriac seedlings that I planted out. And they are still small.

My soft fruit is looking as good as I've ever seen it - probably the rain is just what the logans, gooseberries etc like - so if I can keep the birds off most of it I should get a good crop - the spuds are looking good too, but if this damp continues they will be wiped out by blight I reckon.

The outside Alderman peas seem happy enough too, well over 2m high and just started flowering.

At least if the temperature is dropping overnight you're not going to have blight!

I haven't been monitoring night time temperatures, but my guess would be they've been over 10 round here.

Sorry to be a pessimist but I said to my colleague just now that it is 3 days to the longest day of the year and it is still cold!!! Not ready for shorter days yet when I am still wearing a thick fleecy jacket...

We've had sub 10 ºC here at night till yesterday, when temps warmed up all of a sudden. Hope the same happens for you too soon.
