  • Rainy day amusements

Being a fair weather gardener I don't do much outside when the weather is like it is today.

So in addition to a bit of cooking and the occasional odd job, I often spend quite some time on my computer. This includes checking the news web sites, a bit of Bridge against the robots and today amusing myself by looking at property for sale in Portugal - ie 3 room villa near the sea with a swimming pool, some land all for £150,000 'ish - anyone-else have their "Castles in Spain " moments ?

I like going on google earth & walking around islands looking at the clear water & going to other countries to have a nose around,it’s not raining here today,I’m going to plant more runner beans out & see what’s going on outside. It usually rains about five minutes into me going out there but I can go on a holiday if it does

On rainy days I love to take a virtual (street level) holiday, maybe along a Scottish lane by the sea or nosey round a Mediterranean food market.

I love to potter in the greenhouse, or even take the phone into the greenhouse and ring friends for a chat, or an audiobook and knitting or paper pot maker. Gets a bit crowded with me and 12 tomato plants in summer though....
If rain isn’t too heavy, but the ground is too wet for gardening, then I might just pop boots and waterproofs on and go for a walk in the rain ;-)
I spend too much of my life in an office with little natural light, so I need to get my money’s worth when I have a day off!

Don’t know about your old beauty Broadway but what ‘she who must be obeyed’ don’t show is her corner bed, sofa bed, front room bed, back room bed or the rest of the bungalow.

              Yours is beautiful what’s his/her name ?

                Hi Lumpy

Her name is Stella, she'll be 15 this year, yours?
                Cheers

You could almost be my twin nick. I have frequent 'Castles in Spain' moments. Probably too many if I'm honest. I would be lost without my pc and an internet connection. All my best daydreams involve them.

I also tend to watch quite a few Youtube videos on everything from growing veggies to '100 uses for some sticky backed plastic and a piece of string'. Well not literally but you get the idea.

Also I love the pics of the furry friends above and offer another to add to the pack. This is Harley (otherwise known here as Mutt). He's nearly 12 now and doesn't keep too well so his favourite place is his bed. It's memory foam and has more padding and pillows than my bed does!

Good to know I have a kindred spirit out there - my Youtube viewing revolves around exciting videos of how to undo a rusty nut and how to make a furnace from a bake bean tin etc

No dogs but we do have a rescue cat called Batman :-)

Actually, I might have seen that! Or something similar anyway.

Aw, love the fact you rescued and also love the name.

This is Bessie, a bit of a tart, who got herself in trouble - no surprises there!!
When she came from the Rescue, they didn't know about her condition - as most of the Vine will remember, neither did I.

I was a bit surprised when she produced 5 puppies.

These are the 2 I couldn't part with, Ted in front and Spud behind. I'm typing this standing up as Spud's on my seat.

I play Fortnite. Or The Elder Scrolls.

                            Don't hate me.

You obviously need help, not hate - but then don't we all :-)
