I've discovered a method even Gardeners world would be impressed with.
1. Plant seeds ( 3rd year attempt) of Bells of Ireland.
2. Give them absolutely to the letter perfect conditions plus words of encouragement.
3. Wait and wait and wait way over expected germination time.
4. Pot on the only two seedlings that could be bothered ( sorry but true
) to germinate.
As they are now getting so large they threaten to require staking.
5. Ditch compost into tub used for that purpose to put on garden later.
6 . Refill tray a couple of days later with compost ... accidentaly from used compost source.
7. Sow lobelia. Give same love and attention etc.
Then.. sit back and watch 19 bells of Ireland seedlings scoot up almost immediately. With the lobelia as anticipated coming through a week later.
