  • Bird egg worries

Found this just now, it appears intact but I have not disturbed it. I'm guessing it's fallen from a nest although I can't see one. I'm guessing we need to let nature take its course? Anyone any idea of possible species?

Having had a quick look about I think it's likely to be either a collared dove or wood pigeon, we see both in the garden

      Agree with Jimny.
I wouldn't worry too much as they build terrible nests and they seem to be in a rush (all year round) to get on them.
Feed the soil, not the plants.

It'll feed a fox or rat or something...

You could try blowing it but be prepared to find something dead inside

Out of interest...have you heard any cuckoos in your area????
Their young push out eggs when they hatch

Inexperienced birds can drop eggs anywhere, not anywhere near a nest on occasions.
