  • Very leggy broadbeans

I started off some broadbean seeds in modules about a month ago, and then promptly forgot about them! They are now about a foot tall and extremely leggy. Can I nip the tops off (ok, about six inches) to encourage them to bush up a bit?

Yes I would go for it. If the tops get frosted they will generally resprout.
Leggy beans aren't worth pampering either at they won't be strong enough to hold a crop so I would just do it.

I put French bean out once too early - they got frosted tops so I pinched them out and I had a fabulous crop so it's always worth a go.
