  • Alphabetical Gardening!

Today I treated myself to four new plants.
Strangely (and without trying to be clever!) they were all plants starting with the letter A.
Anchusa Loddon Royalist, Astrantia Claret, Artemisia Dark Beauty and Achillea Double Diamond.
Next time I shall try a B or two ...... any suggestions???

      Well, well well, VC!!
You must’ve sent me a subliminal message to resurrect your old thread when you sent me the Babington Leeks!!
I shall read through it with pleasure.
      Thank you.

Absolutely fascinating thread with some fabulous suggestions.
(Stopped me going back to sleep. I wouldn’t normally be reading forums at five in the morning)
Well worth having a re-read for anyone looking for good ideas of what to sow.

I feel guilty for keeping you awake for so long.

Just as well I didn't tell you about the other Alphabetical ideas I've had!!

The "simplest" was to divide the garden into 30 random beds (one for each day of the month) and to grow in the first 26 of them, plants beginning with the appropriate letter of the alphabet.
For example, bed 1A has achillea, alliums, 2B has blackcurrants and borage etc.
Bed 3C had cosmos, chives and carrots.

Then there was the Alphabet of Oddments at..........
          https://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gr...light=alphabet
          and Alphabetical Polycultures at https://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gr...res_96127.html

Don't worry, I don't expect you to read them!!
