  • ten year old telegraph seed chit test.

    So I was given a ten year out of date packet of telegraph improved f1 cucumber seed.
    Chitted a week ago, how many broke through do you think ?

            Actually i had six shows, all of which have been potted up , well shocked, i wasnt expecting any tbh.
            also did a pack of cayenne that were 5 years out of date, no show from them yet.

                      Good job! I love when something like this happens for me, too.

                      I think of grow by dates like use by dates on food - use care and have a go and it just might surprise you.

                      Having worked in manufacturing, I do know that these types of dates are based on worse case scenarios for handling and storage (which is obvious after seeing some people buy groceries and leave them in their warm car for a few hours before taking them home!)
