  • Morrison's Tomatoes.

The boss has just returned from Morrison's with some tomatoes. Has anyone heard of them Exotique vine tomatoes. The flavour is great. They came from Spain.
    Thanks.
    Bob.

No trace on-line - I suspect it's just a supermarket made up name

All the supermarkets make up names so that they can select the variety that's available at the time. Pure Marketing.

haha whoever's heard of those kind of tomatoes VC? haha

Why not squeeze a few seeds out of one of them and try growing them?

                Thank you for your replies.
Had intended trying some of there seeds but had eaten them all before I realised it.
Looked up the variety but could find no mention of it anywhere.
Will need to get the boss to buy some more but that could make the seed very expensive.

Or rather, the way I look at it, you buy some more lovely tomatoes to eat, and get some free seeds!

                    Morrisons tomatos

We had some lovely tasting toms from Morrison's a few weeks back. Cut one up and scraped the seeds on to some compost not expecting them to grow. Have just potted up 2 dozen and thrown dozens away. Sad but no room. Looking forward to seeing how they grow and taste.

There's no guarantee they'll taste the same as the original, but still worth a shot if you have space for an experiment!

You should have put some seeds to dry for next year just in case they live up to your expectations.

I don't suppose you know the name of the tomatoes, unfortunately a lot of the tomatoes that are on sale in the shops are f1s, but it is definitely worth a try
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
