  • Lemon seed!

Growing two lemon trees from seed, one is growing normally, and the other is doing this... any ideas why? It looks like it’s pushed up then three branches and couple of leaves.

I had "the pip book" when I was young, about growing plants from pips & stones. I remember with citrus fruits it said that it's quite common to plant one pip and get more than one plant growing. One will be the "normal" seed from the pollinated flower so will be a mix of both parents (if different) and the other(s) are clones of the mother plant, vegetatively produced. So if you want a clone rather than pot luck you save those ones. I reckon that's what you have here.

that’s interesting! How do I split these and when would I be able to, could imagine growing them so close wouldn’t be good.

I'm no expert on this, but I'd be inclined to leave them for at least a year to get bigger - so that its easier to see and handle them, and also for them to get some reserves of strength.
