    Problems with the Forum

    Post on here if something isn't working as it should.
    Give as much information as possible - but not a story!!
    What device you're using.
    Which operating system and browser (eg PC, Win 10, Chrome)

    What the problem is and any error message and what it says.
    Screen shots are very helpful.

    Without this information we can't see if there's a pattern. Its no good commenting on various threads as they get buried by the following posts.l

    The website seems to have acquired lots of bells and whistles over the years, a lot of flashing bits and pieces going on which slow my old machine down. Ads, pop-up, slow running scripts etc. There's always an irritating ad at the bottom which pops up and I find I click on it a lot by accident, than have to wait for that to open up than shut it down.... you get the picture.

    There are pages and pages of ads in the mag, do we have to have them on the forum too? I have cancelled my subscription to the mag incidentally, same old boring selection of seeds, and by the very nature of growing, very similar things are published at about the same time every year. No point discussing the sowing of melon seeds in December of course, but it's all got a bit samey.

      Vince - need the details - operating system and all that, please.
      We know about the ads but can't do much about those - we're asking about problems actually using the forum - likes, posting whatever.

        No problems actually using the system, once all the scripts stop running and the flashing ads calm down. It's not broke on that front so doesn't need fixing

          There should be an X on the bottom Pop-up ad to make it disappear for a week or you could do what so many of us do, use an Adblocker - but don't say I told you.

            I think this is more a problem with me than anything, but help would be appreciated. For some reason I can't figure how to post a new thread. I've done it before, but now can't see how I did it. I feel like an idiot.....
            Mostly flowers, some fruit and veg, at the seaside in Edinburgh.

              There's been a problem clicking the like and the post buttons for about a fortnight?

              Click either of those and nothing happens, click scroll down button and then click like/post again and it works - a blimmin PITA - don't know what has changed here, but something has .
              I use Google search on IE Windows 8.1.

                Use the 'Post New Thread' button at the top of the section you want to post in, i.e. 'vegging out'.

                  The remember me button doesn't seem to function, I am logged out every visit, no fault message.

                  When I click on "new posts" it automatically logs me in, no password required.

                  PC, Windows 10, Explorer.

                          and then when you click on "new posts" you go to
                          https://www.growfruitandveg....

                          the https version is an encrypted connection and remembers your details - the http version is not encrypted so is insecure

                          ... well, its possibly along those lines...

                            widows 7 and firefox,i have to log in everytime,remember me does not nothing,the have to clic,on either forum or new posts,very often clic on likes and to enter a new post will not work,then after several attemts later on it works,no message boxes here,well i never,just tried getting into the site via a new tab,and no bother at all,but still have to do the log in initialy for it to work,
                            i stand corrected,this is what i get,before i try to log in,this is complicated,

                            also after reading other peeps,i cannot get to clic on new post or anything,until i have loged in

                              Thats because the shortcut is to the old site LD, the shortcut, bookmark or favourite needs to point to

                              https:// not http://
